Ingredients

HAM

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham 6–8 lb
  • 1 tbsp ranch seasoning

GLAZE

  • 1 tbsp ranch seasoning
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2.5 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F. Place the ham in a roasting pan and pat the surface dry, then season evenly on all sides with ranch seasoning, pressing it gently into the exterior.
  • Transfer the ham to the oven uncovered and bake for 45–60 minutes, allowing it to warm through and begin developing color on the outside. If your ham is larger, plan for about 10–12 minutes per pound.
  • While the ham cooks, combine brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, and ranch seasoning in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously for 3–4 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the glaze thickens slightly, then remove from heat.
  • After the ham has cooked for about 20 minutes, begin basting it generously with the glaze. Continue basting every 10–15 minutes, coating all sides to build layers of flavor and encourage caramelization.
  • During the final 10 minutes of cooking, increase the oven temperature to 400°F to help the glaze bubble and caramelize. Watch closely to ensure the sugars darken without burning, creating a sticky, glossy crust.
  • Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with any remaining glaze spooned over the top for an extra hit of sweet and savory flavor.
