Ingredients

FRENCH TOAST

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter

FOR SERVING

  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together half and half, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully combined and smooth. Make sure the mixture is well blended so each bite cooks evenly.
  • Separate the sweet rolls and dip each one into the egg mixture, rolling quickly to coat all sides without oversoaking. For smaller bites, slice the rolls in half before dipping.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium to medium-high heat and melt the butter, swirling to coat the pan evenly. Once the butter is foamy but not browned, add the dipped rolls in a single layer.
  • Cook for about 1 minute per side, rotating carefully with tongs until all sides are golden brown and lightly crisp. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning while allowing a caramelized exterior to develop.
  • Remove the bites from the skillet and transfer to a serving plate. Dust generously with powdered sugar while warm.
  • Serve immediately with warm maple syrup for dipping and enjoy while soft, buttery, and fresh off the skillet.
