FRENCH TOAST
- 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter
FOR SERVING
- Maple syrup
- Powdered sugar
In a medium bowl, whisk together half and half, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully combined and smooth. Make sure the mixture is well blended so each bite cooks evenly.
Separate the sweet rolls and dip each one into the egg mixture, rolling quickly to coat all sides without oversoaking. For smaller bites, slice the rolls in half before dipping.
Heat a nonstick skillet over medium to medium-high heat and melt the butter, swirling to coat the pan evenly. Once the butter is foamy but not browned, add the dipped rolls in a single layer.
Cook for about 1 minute per side, rotating carefully with tongs until all sides are golden brown and lightly crisp. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning while allowing a caramelized exterior to develop.
Remove the bites from the skillet and transfer to a serving plate. Dust generously with powdered sugar while warm.
Serve immediately with warm maple syrup for dipping and enjoy while soft, buttery, and fresh off the skillet.
