Servings: 4
- 2.5 cups shredded lettuce
- 5 hot honey chicken tenders
- 6 slices white American cheese
- 8 slices bacon cooked
- 2 large spoonfuls mayo
- Extra hot honey for drizzling
FOR SERVING
- 4 hoagie rolls or brioche buns
Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate. Warm the hoagie rolls in a 350°F oven for 3–5 minutes until lightly toasted on the outside.
On a large cutting board, add the lettuce, hot honey chicken tenders, white American cheese, and crispy bacon. Using a sharp knife, chop everything together until the mixture becomes evenly combined and finely chopped.
Add the chopped mixture to a large bowl and mix in the mayo along with an extra drizzle of hot honey. Stir thoroughly until all the ingredients are coated in the creamy, sweet, and spicy sauce.
Taste the filling and adjust the sauce as needed by adding more mayo for creaminess or extra hot honey for sweetness and heat. The filling should be well coated without becoming soggy.
Slice open the warm hoagie rolls and pile the chopped hot honey mixture generously into each roll. Press the filling down slightly so every bite stays packed with flavor.
Wrap the subs tightly in parchment paper or foil for a few minutes before serving to help everything hold together. Slice in half and enjoy while warm and cheesy.
