- 2 cups mayo
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp horseradish
- 2.5 tsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp BBQ rub
- 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
In a medium mixing bowl, add the mayo, apple cider vinegar, horseradish, sugar, lemon juice, BBQ rub and black pepper.
Whisk everything together thoroughly until the sauce becomes completely smooth and evenly combined. The sauce should have a creamy consistency with a slightly tangy aroma.
Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed by adding more vinegar for tanginess, sugar for sweetness, or BBQ rub for extra smoky flavor. This sauce is easy to customize to your preference.
Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or transfer the sauce to an airtight container. Place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving so the flavors can fully develop.
Once chilled, stir the sauce again before serving. The texture will thicken slightly as it rests in the fridge.
Serve cold with smoked chicken, pulled pork, sandwiches, fries, or grilled vegetables. Store leftovers refrigerated for up to 1 week.
