Ingredients

SAUSAGE GRAVY

  • 1 lb hot breakfast sausage
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3.5 cups milk
  • 1/2 tsp Lawry’s seasoning salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper

BISCUITS

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven according to the biscuit package directions
  • In a skillet, brown the sausage until fully cooked and slightly crispy, breaking it up as it cooks, then sprinkle in the flour and stir constantly for about 1 minute to cook out the raw flour taste.
  • Slowly pour in the milk while stirring, allowing the gravy to thicken as it simmers, about 3–5 minutes, until smooth and creamy.
  • Season the gravy with Lawry’s seasoning salt and black pepper, adjusting the consistency with a splash of milk if needed.
  • Transfer gravy to a casserole dish (or add biscuits to the skillet)
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters and gently nestle them into the hot sausage gravy, spacing them evenly across the surface.
  • Transfer the dish to the oven and bake until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through, about 35–40 minutes, then serve hot.
