Ingredients

  • 48 oz frozen meatballs
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 18 oz BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your smoker to 350°F, preparing it for indirect heat cooking. Use your favorite wood for added flavor, such as hickory or applewood.
  • Add the frozen meatballs to a large cast iron skillet or aluminum pan, spreading them out evenly. Place the pan directly on the smoker grates.
  • Add the butter, brown sugar, and BBQ sauce over the meatballs, stirring gently to coat them evenly as the butter begins to melt. Make sure the meatballs are fully covered in the sauce mixture.
  • Smoke at 350°F for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to prevent sticking and ensure even glazing. The sauce will gradually thicken and caramelize as it reduces.
  • Continue cooking until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce is thick, glossy, and clings to each meatball. The internal temperature should reach at least 165°F.
  • Remove from the smoker and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm with toothpicks and enjoy the sweet, smoky, sticky goodness.
