Sticky Peach Maple Glazed Smoked Ham
Ingredients
HAM
- 1 spiral-cut ham
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- BBQ rub of choice
GLAZE
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup peach preserves
- 1/4 cup sriracha
- 2 shots whiskey
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 300°F, setting it up for indirect heat with clean, steady smoke. This temperature helps the ham warm through while developing a flavorful exterior.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, peach preserves, sriracha, and whiskey. Stir occasionally and let the mixture simmer for 15–20 minutes until it thickens into a smooth, glossy glaze.
- Pat the ham dry if needed, then lightly coat it with yellow mustard to act as a binder. Season generously with your favorite BBQ rub, making sure to get into the spiral cuts for maximum flavor.
- Place the ham directly onto the smoker grates and close the lid. Let it cook undisturbed for about 30 minutes so it can begin to absorb the smoke.
- Begin brushing the glaze over the ham, making sure it seeps into the slices. Continue glazing every 30 minutes, building layers until the outside becomes sticky, caramelized, and deeply colored.
- After about 2 to 2.5 hours, or once the ham is fully heated through and beautifully glazed, remove it from the smoker. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing, then serve warm with extra glaze if desired.
